Dr. Said Hajem is currently working as the Head of Research Unit, Unit of Research and Studies on Aging and Medical Causes of Death at the National Institute of Public Health of Tunisia, Ministry of Public Health, Tunisia.

He is a medical doctor, graduated from the University of Tunis II and received his d octor in Epidemiology degree from the University of Paris XI. He had his DEA degree on " Statistics and Health" from the University of Paris XI. His other academic qualifications include; a) CES Human Biology General Epidemiology, University of Paris XI b) Half - Graduate Certificate in Human Biology for statistical methods , University Paris XI, c) Half - Graduate Certificate in Human Biology for epidemiological methods , University Paris XI and, d) Half - Graduate Certificate in Human Biology for Applied Statistics in Biology, University Paris XI.

His main areas of interests are a) Epidemiology and Sociology of Aging, b) Epidemiology of chronic and non-transmissible diseases, c) Epidemiology of age-related disabilities d) Analysis and statistical analysis of death causes, e)All types of epidemiological studies, and f) All kinds of statistical analyzes using SAS software.
