Announcement for Leadership Training in Sustainable Development: the Population, Environment and Development (PED) Nexus course in South Africa

We are pleased to announce, PPD, with the support of the Department of Social Development of the Government of South Africa and Leadership for Environment and Development (LEAD) South Africa are jointly offering one scholarship to each PPD Member Country (MC), to participate in the Leadership Training in Sustainable Development: the Population, Environment and Development (PED) Nexus for Integrated Development Planning short course. The course will be conducted in Port Elizabeth, South Africa, from 22-29 March 2015.

The scholarship package covers the registration fee, local accommodation and meals. Participants will be responsible for their own travel to and from the session venue in Bloemfontein, South Africa as well as pocket money for covering incidental expenses during their stay in South Africa. In order to be eligible for scholarship, the candidate must be:

  1. Holding a graduation/bachelor’s degree preferably in Social Science
  2. Service holder of the government with at least 2 years’ experience in Population, Environment & Development arena
  3. Satisfactory communication and understanding skills in English as the session will be conducted solely in English without interpretation services.

We are requesting PPD member countries, to nominate a participant to attend this course. Should any country wish to register additional participants, please note that their registration fees will be payable to LEAD directly.

Please note that the member countries are encouraged to nominate women candidate(s) for this scholarship.
